Domestic Leadership experience
Summary: At the beginning of August, my Lindner Honors-PLUS class had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. and visit the FDIC, a lobbyist firm, staffers from the House of Representatives and the Senate. We then took a train to New York City, where we visited Bloomberg, Deloitte, JP Morgan, and Ernst & Young. This summer, I took a number of courses specifically designed to prepare me for this experience. One of the classes I took focused on ethics in the world of business. My class traveled to DC and NYC with questions we wanted to pose to the business leaders we met in each of the cities. The final assignment for our business ethics course was a reflection paper, designed to showcase our domestic program leadership experience and highlight the insight we gained from our meetings. Every business executive had her own set of experiences and unique background. If I learned anything during the week, it was that our experiences make us who we are, so we must learn to appreciate them, no matter what.
